MH Custom Girls

, by Anna G.

I've first bought a Basic Travel Draculaura in February so I could just practice face-ups and maybe get better in BJD face-ups from the change of scale. Funny thing is, these girls got me - and got me good! They are pretty cute and fun to handle, and have different sculpts just like BJDs. The difference of the painting process is mostly the material and the fact that you have to paint the eyes on the face, but still MSC is the best fixative for their face-ups.

This Draculaura was my first MH repaint ever. I still want to re-do her someday because there are a few mistakes, but I do love her a lot. The Draculaura sculpt is very very girly and sweet! I heard Frankie is also really cute, but I still haven't painted one yet. I do want to, though, when I get more time on my hands.

Lagoona was my second girl just because I really liked her character. She's very sweet and with an Australian accent. Her sculpt is also very sweet even tough she has very big 'fishy' eyes. I want to get her hand painting better someday as the factory's is really not perfect.

I also got Rochelle because I really liked her character. Her stone-like skin is adorable and she's French! I have a weakness for European characters, especially when they have such cute accents. Rochelle is an absolutely adorable character without losing her strength. Not to say I love her hair - I have both her Scaris version and her basic version that is also waiting a repaint.

Next on the line are Abbey, Spectra, Cleo and Toralei. I will probably do them next month - have job applications and an animation to finish soon. :)

More Shinsengumi Era from Volks

, by Anna G.

The first pictures of the doll releases for the next Dolpa 29 are already around the internet!

After being able to resist the temptation of the SDGou Claude 'the Beast' from the Osaka HT Dolpa a couple of weeks ago, Volks has finally got me by releasing more of their Shinsengumi Era themed dolls. This time they are no other than SD17 Sakamoto Ryoma himself, and SD16 Narasaki Ryo, going away from the Shinsengumi team and making more historical characters from the same era. I am glad I have resisted the Beast and saved some funds for Ryoma - definitely getting him either through a US release or through the Japanese Int. After Event!

He should be a great gift-to-self after finishing all job applications and one animation for a class. Definitely, definitely going after him even if it means Yahoo!Japan. Ryo is also tempting, but let's see how it goes.

With the two big dolls also come YoSDs Piccolo and Ann in a 2nd face-up version, and two new Dolfie Dreams - Asuna from SAO and Alice from Witch of Holy Night.

I still feel a little sorry for not going after the Beast... but Sakamoto should definitely be worth it!

Welcome...

, by Anna G.

To this little piece of blog, just created, still getting the grip of it.

I decided to make this blog to post anything about things I love, things I do, sometimes things I think, but not too much of it. I will try to make this focused on my dolls and trips, and maybe other professional stuff like illustration and writing. I learned that it doesn't really matter if we write about ourselves when people nowadays are looking for readings they can identify themselves with (I guess that explains the popularity of certain books)... so I see no point in wasting time writing something too long about me since it doesn't interest anyone, really.

Dolls are wonderful, I love them, I love traveling, I love making art. I love movies, graphic novels, music, illustrations, series. I like to enjoy my time alone or with one or two or three good friends. I love my University, I love living in a calm place. I want to have a stable job, get my own place and decorate it just the way I want. That's all that's important about me, I guess. ♥

Oh, and I'm looking forward to make the best out of this.
